The price of a mommy makeover varies quite a bit with the specific combination of procedures included in the surgery. During the consultation, your plastic surgeon discusses your aesthetic concerns and goals in detail and then creates a customized surgical plan that’s best suited for you. You will be given a customized quote at that time.
Pregnancy and nursing cause size and weight fluctuations from which the body can’t always fully snap back. Although a woman can lose weight after pregnancy through diet and exercise, no amount of healthy living can correct stretched skin, separated abdominal muscles, or loss of breast volume. A mommy makeover can:
Some women decide to have the surgery as soon as they are finished having children, but it is also appropriate for women with grown children who want to give themselves the body they have long wanted.

Most mommy makeovers include procedures to enhance the breasts and midsection, but the beauty of this combination surgery is that it can be customized to each patient’s needs, which may extend beyond those areas. During your consultation, Dr. Olson and Dr. Marks will discuss your goals and what can be achieved safely within a single operation. Below are just some of your options.
One of the most common components of a mommy makeover is a tummy tuck to address stretched abdomen skin after pregnancy. During this procedure, our plastic surgeons can remove excess skin and tighten the muscles that lie below it. Stretchmarks and scars from a Cesarean section can sometimes be removed during a tummy tuck.
Dr. Olson and Dr. Marks can perform liposuction in conjunction with a tummy tuck to remove stubborn midsection fat, but they can also address fat in other areas that might be concerns for mothers, such as the thighs and flanks.
Our plastic surgeons can harvest your own fat from one area of the body where it is unwanted and transfer it to the buttocks in a Brazilian butt lift. This popular procedure can create a more rounded, appealing shape and help restore an hourglass figure.
Dr. Olson and Dr. Marks are two of only a few plastic surgeons in the Scottsdale area who perform a wide array of body sculpting options, including arm lift surgery and lower body lift, which affects the buttocks, hips, and thighs. These options may be part of a combination procedure.
Another very common component of a mommy makeover, a breast lift elevates and reshapes breasts to create a perkier, more youthful appearance. Weight changes and nursing can sometimes exacerbate sagging, which also comes with age, and a breast lift can help.
Some mothers also lose volume in their breasts after pregnancy, so Dr. Olson and Dr. Marks can perform breast augmentation. At our practice in Gilbert, women can choose from a variety of breast implant options in a range of sizes and styles.
Sometimes, mommy makeover patients are also interested in facial rejuvenation. A surgical procedure, such as a facelift or rhinoplasty, can enhance facial contours and restore a more youthful, vibrant appearance.
Nonsurgical treatments, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic or filler injections, can also be components of a combination procedure. Patients can complement their mommy makeovers with Renuvion® (J-Plasma®) skin tightening treatments or MOXI® laser skin rejuvenation. Cellulite or stubborn fat deposits can also be addressed with Cellfina® and CoolSculpting®.
Our accomplished plastic surgeons, Dr. Josh Olson and Dr. Jacob M. Marks, strive to provide a seamless patient experience that exceeds all expectations. Both surgeons have trained under leading experts and bring warmth, compassion, and finely honed skills to their work. Learn more about what sets Advanced Plastic Surgery Institute apart.
Meet Dr. Olson Meet Dr. MarksIn general, mommy makeover patients are ready to return to normal daily activities and sedentary jobs within 2 to 3 weeks. Dr. Olson and Dr. Marks will provide you with detailed instructions to keep you comfortable during your recovery. Your downtime will depend on which procedures you opt for, but the length of recovery is about as long as if you had gotten a tummy tuck on its own.
While multiple areas will be sore and your mobility will be more limited after mommy makeover surgery, combining procedures provides most patients the following benefits:
Improvement from a mommy makeover is immediately noticeable as patients enjoy more shapely breasts, a flatter abdomen, and firmer contours. Swelling is normal and may take 4 to 6 weeks to subside in liposuctioned areas. Breast implants can take 3 to 4 months to settle into their final shape. The vast majority of our mommy makeover patients are excited to have their bodies look more like they did before pregnancy and breastfeeding—or even better.
While a mommy makeover is not considered a weight loss procedure, it does sculpt the body in a way that often leads to a reduction in dress size (typically 2 to 3 sizes on average).
Diastasis recti is a condition commonly associated with pregnancy where the muscles of the abdomen become stretched or separated. If your mommy makeover includes a tummy tuck, your plastic surgeon will be able to fix your diastasis recti by suturing the muscles back together.
We recommend that patients be at a stable, healthy weight before pursuing surgery. If you are more than 10 to 15 pounds from your ideal weight, losing weight prior to your procedure can reduce your risk of complications, facilitate an easier recovery, and enhance your surgical results.
Mommy makeovers are some of the more involved cosmetic surgery procedures, given that multiple areas of the face and body may be addressed at once. You will need to have a support system in place to allow you to get the rest you need to heal, especially if you have young children.
Patients will feel some soreness and discomfort in the days following their procedure, but the pain is typically manageable with pain medication. Following all postoperative instructions and balancing rest with slow, gentle walks early on can facilitate a smooth, comfortable recovery.
